Future Directions in Re-Entry Portal Website

Jul 6, 2017 | News

We are excited to present our Virginia Re-Entry Portal, a statewide initiative by the Office of the Attorney General, to help local sheriffs prepare inmates for release and connect them with local community stakeholders.

Re-entry is a powerful win-win investment that makes our communities safer and saves taxpayers money,” said Attorney General Mark Herring. “I’m really proud of the infrastructure we’ve been building over the last few years and the many localities that have added, expanded, or strengthened their re-entry efforts.

This portal will serve as a collection of re-entry data, and will include

  • examples of assessment materials,
  • different re-entry strategies for implementation,
  • local community resources and
  • resource kits.

More coming soon

Resources will be added as best practices are developed. We encourage all those interested in increasing the successful re-entry of returning citizens to explore the website, sign up for our enewsletter and send us your feedback and suggestions.
